Spiced Minced Meat Stuffed Bread Parcels
Soft enriched dough is folded around a fragrant filling of minced beef cooked with onion, cumin, garam masala and ginger, then baked until golden. Each parcel is finished with a strip of tomato, green chili and a drizzle of garlic yogurt sauce. Hearty street-food comfort for tea time, picnics or a lunchbox.

Method 7 steps

Knead the flour, yeast, sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, milk and 2 tbsp oil into a soft dough and let rise 1 hour.

Fry the onion in the remaining oil over medium heat for 6 minutes until golden, add the ginger garlic paste and cook 1 minute.

Add the beef, cumin, garam masala, minced chili and remaining salt and cook, breaking it up, for 12 minutes until dry and browned; stir in cilantro and cool.

Preheat the oven to 375 F. Divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll each into a 6 by 8-inch rectangle.

Spoon filling down the center, fold the long sides over so they meet with a narrow gap, and pinch the ends into points.

Brush with beaten egg, lay a tomato strip and a chili slice on each, and bake 20 to 22 minutes until deep golden.

Drizzle with the garlic yogurt sauce and serve warm.
