Carrot Orange Juice with Fresh Mint

Sweet carrots and juicy oranges blend into a vivid sunset-orange juice with a gentle earthy backbone. A knob of ginger adds warmth and a sprig of mint brings a cool finish. It is a nourishing breakfast glass that tastes more like a treat than a health drink.

Method 5 steps

  1. If using a juicer, feed through the carrots, peeled oranges and ginger, then stir in the lemon juice and skip the water.

  2. If using a blender, blend the carrots, oranges, ginger and cold water on high for 60 to 90 seconds until completely smooth.

  3. Pour the blended mixture through a fine sieve or nut milk bag, pressing firmly to extract all the juice, then stir in the lemon juice.

  4. Fill tall glasses with ice and pour in the juice, leaving a little foam on top.

  5. Slap each mint sprig lightly to release its aroma, tuck it into the glass and serve with the halved orange alongside.
