A generous bowl of mozzarella pearls marinated in golden chili and herb oil anchors this easy antipasto spread, with draped prosciutto and basil, buttery green olives, capers, sun-dried tomatoes and thick slices of crusty bread. Everything is store-bought except the marinade, making it perfect for last-minute guests.

Method 6 steps

  1. Warm the olive oil in a small pan over low heat for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the red pepper flakes, oregano and garlic. Let cool 10 minutes.

  2. Pour the infused oil over the mozzarella balls in a shallow bowl, turning to coat, and marinate at least 15 minutes.

  3. Drape the prosciutto loosely on a flat plate and tuck basil leaves at each end.

  4. Fill small bowls with the green olives, capers and sun-dried tomatoes.

  5. Arrange everything on a large marble board or table with the sliced baguette and small dishes of flaky salt and cracked pepper.

  6. Serve at room temperature with the chili oil for dipping the bread.
