Salami Pizza with Black Olives and Cherry Tomatoes

Wide slices of salami crisp at the edges on this cheesy round, dotted with halved cherry tomatoes, black olive rings and a few basil leaves. The golden, soft-crust base is baked in a dark pan for even browning. A crowd-pleasing pie for family pizza night that balances salty, sweet and savory bites.

Method 6 steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 475 F and oil a 12-inch dark pizza pan.

  2. Press and stretch the dough to fill the pan, pushing it slightly thicker at the edges.

  3. Spread the sauce to within 1/2 inch of the rim and cover with mozzarella.

  4. Arrange the salami slices in a ring, then fill the gaps with cherry tomato halves cut side up and the olive halves.

  5. Bake on the lower rack for 13 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is bubbling and the underside is golden when lifted with a spatula.

  6. Scatter basil over the top, cool for 3 minutes and slice into wedges.
